The Cascadia Brief is a single-email dispatch, edited by our four-person newsroom and mailed before the news cycle picks up. We do not run sponsored placements, advocacy copy, or syndication deals — every paragraph is written by a named staff researcher, and every claim is tied to a primary source, court filing, or on-the-record statement.
Each edition runs six to eight items, organized the same way every week so the regular reader knows where to look. A lead item opens with the week's most consequential development — a verified roster change, a leaked chat log, a new financier traced through incorporation records, a federal indictment we have read in full. Two or three field notes follow, drawn from our 60-person stringer network across 31 states. A short data desk item surfaces one numerical update to our 1,400-organization database — a merger, a split, a state-charter filing, or a website takedown. We close with a week ahead calendar: court hearings, congressional markups, organization anniversaries, and one thing our editors are watching that has not yet broken.
